DECISION OF  THE  STANDING  COMMITTEE  OF  THE  NATIONAL  PEOPLE'S CONGRESS ON APPROVING THE OPENING OF NANJING PORT ON THE YANGTZE RIVER  TOFOREIGN VESSELS

Sixth National People's Congress on January 20, 1986)
After considering  the  proposal  put  forward  by  the  Central  Military
Commission for approval of the opening of Nanjing Port to foreign vessels,
the 14th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Sixth National  People's
Congress has decided to approve the opening of Nanjing Port on the Yangtze
River to foreign  vessels.  The  State  Council  is  authorized  to  grant
approval in the future when there is a need to open other ports along  the
Yangtze River between Nanjing Port and the mouth of the river  to  foreign
vessels.
